Experience

Essential criteria

  • Working in liaison mental health service, in patients and or community mental health teams

Desirable criteria

  • Prior incident investigation
  • Prior complaint investigation experience
  • Able to work independently

Skills

Essential criteria

  • Excellent clinical assessment skills, including assessment and management of risk; in relation to Older People and Adults of Working Age
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health problems and illnesses
  • Excellent understanding of the interface between physical and mental health needs
  • Knowledge of legislation, statutory and good practice guidance relating to mental health (including: NICE guidelines, the Mental Health Act, the Care Programme Approach and the Mental
  • Ability to provide leadership and management skills to an integrated multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and monitor own and others work load
  • Supervisory skills including staff appraisal and
  • Ability to contribute to staff training and development
  • Ability to ensure effective budget management

  • Investigation and root cause analysis skills
