Salary up to £55,633 per annum

Salary: £42,917 - £49,133 per annum (plus a £6000 annual market supplement*)

Grade F

12 Months fixed term

37 Hours per Week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Prevention and Support Service (PASS). We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker committed to supporting children, young people, and families within Thurrock.

The Prevention and Support Service (PASS) provides integrated support to children young people and their families where additional needs have been identified. The key objective of the service is to offer practical advice, support, and direct case work to families to prevent issues escalating and requiring statutory intervention.

The role of the Senior Practitioner within PASS is to work alongside other professionals to offer advice, guidance and support to professionals working with children and their families. They will also undertake an assessment and robust planning via Team Around the Family meetings. The Senior Practitioner will also manage a Family Support worker with the PASS team. The duties will include, but are not limited to case management, supervision, authorisation of assessments/TAF meetings, manage absences and review performance via a Personal Development Plan.

The role is pivotal in offering consultation, signposting and allocation of the most appropriate services which will, include multi-agency service provision. We are looking for a Family Support Worker who is experienced and confident enough to work autonomously where required to ensure children and families are appropriately supported.

About you

You will need to have a thorough knowledge of the Children Act. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently but also as part of a successful team to ensure high quality social work. Assessments will need to reflect the lived experience of applicants and provide details analysis. Written work will need to be clear, concise and correct.

  • Social Work Degree
  • Completion of ASYE
  • 2 years post qualifying experience
