Senior PR Manager, EU SPS Communications Lead, Selling Partner Services Communications

The Amazon Communications team is seeking a strategic senior PR/Communications leader for the role of Senior PR Manager, EU Selling Partner Services (SPS). The person who fills this role will own the communications strategy and execution for SPS business areas, including customer trust, seller experience, and emerging products and services, throughout the EU. The role will work closely with counterparts across global communications, public policy, legal, and the SPS business, including senior executives, to provide strategic PR counsel and guidance, drive messaging and narrative development, own PR strategy and lead execution for key moments and announcements, look around corners to mitigate potential issues, and deliver pan-EU results in support of business priorities. The role is based in London and will manage one direct report.

The successful candidate has strong experience in providing strategic counsel for both proactive and reactive situations across complex business areas and amongst a range of peers and senior leaders. She/he is a self-starter who can clearly formulate and communicate PR recommendations, produce well-written documents, drive collaborative decisions and outcomes, build relationships internally and externally, manage through ambiguity and competing priorities, and deliver strong results. She/he has experience in owning significant proactive announcements or launches from start to finish, creatively designing and executing impactful communications campaigns to drive awareness and press coverage, and working with counterparts to ensure messaging representation in key activities and moments.

Key job responsibilities
• Lead pan-EU PR/Communications strategy and programs for SPS, including with a focus on customer trust, seller experience, and emerging products and services
• Provide strategic counsel to executives and cross-functional teams on PR approaches and messaging
• Drive and oversee execution of strategic PR/Communications plans, including communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges, both proactively and reactively, including knowing when to take action or escalate
• Own strategy and execution of proactive PR announcements, launches, and narratives
• Own EU SPS communications goals and supporting activities/coverage
• Support executive communications activities, including drafting social media content, developing media strategies, and preparing materials
• Manage one direct report, helping to prioritize and reprioritize work, guide execution, and support career development
• Guide management of a third-party agency to support PR activities
• Willingness to represent Amazon as a spokesperson

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Significant experience at a senior level in communications or public relations
- Proven track record of advising senior leaders on PR approaches, both proactively and reactively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Consumer and/or B2B public relations experience
- Experience managing multiple business areas and competing priorities with success
- Ability to successfully maneuver ambiguity and complex organizations and business areas
- Solid judgement, including under tight timelines
- Experience balancing business priorities and corporate reputation
- Experience managing a small team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
