Description

Aurora's Software Solutions team is building the global investment analytics platform for the energy transition. Widely adopted by leading energy companies and investors, the platform changes the way that energy market analytics is performed and delivered. In order to develop this platform in lockstep with what users need, and enable users to meet increasingly complex requirements through our software products, Aurora is building a global Customer Success function that sits at the critical interface between the software development teams and the end users.

We are currently looking for an ambitious Senior Power Markets Analyst to join the Customer Success team in Oxford, to play a key role in the expansion of Origin, Aurora's power markets forecasting software. The successful candidate will combine GB power markets experience, with keen analytical ability and a flair for client-facing interactions. They will be comfortable operating in a highly cross-functional role, and be able to seamlessly navigate the complexities of power markets forecasting, and communicate insights to clients across the energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support leading developers, utilities and funds to integrate Origin, Aurora's power markets forecasting software, into their strategic investment decisions
  • Work closely with clients to train them on how to use Origin, guide them to create bespoke market scenarios, and support them to interpret results and derive valuable insights that inform their decision-making processes
  • Work closely with the Origin product team to inform the product development roadmap, by conveying feature requests, product use cases and other client feedback
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to spearhead strategies to engage with users and drive product adoption and satisfaction

What we are looking for

Required attributes:

  • At least 1.5 years of experience in an analytical role in the energy, consulting, tech, or financial services sectors, or another such knowledge-driven sector
  • Experience analysing the GB power market (or other European markets)
  • Analytically proficient, with ability to derive insights from complex quantitative data using Excel, SQL, python and/or Power BI
  • Excellent communication skills, with a flair for client-facing interactions, and ability to explain complex topics to both technically and non-technically minded parties
  • Competent stakeholder management skills, with experience working in cross-functional roles to solve complex problems
  • Self-starter with creative problem-solving approach

Desirable attributes:

  • (GB) power markets modelling experience
  • Experience in leading and delivering time-critical projects
