As the newest of King's College London's nine faculties, the King's Business School (KBS) has been accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS since opening in 2017. The KBS doctoral programme spans the disciplines of management, marketing, economics and finance and has ambitious strategic plans to grow, enhance and develop. This includes innovating and renewing our doctoral training programme to prepare our students to launch their research projects and bolster skill development, expanding doctoral recruitment and enhancing student experience and doctoral research culture. Currently the School's total cohort of doctoral students is around 120, full-time and part-time, with approximately 35-45 new students admitted each year. The doctoral programme offers our students dedicated campus study spaces, a generous Doctoral Training & Support Grant and a range of events which includes the annual KBS Doctoral Research Symposium.
About the role:
The Senior Postgraduate Research (PGR) Officer is a member of the KBS Doctoral Studies team and will be dedicated to the administration of the school's doctoral programme. The role holder will work closely with the Associate Dean for Doctoral Studies, PGR Manager, PGR Officer, School Research Manager, the PhD Coordinators for Admissions and Examinations, the departmental Doctoral Studies Leads, student representatives and KBS Postgraduate Research Sub-committee members to ensure that the doctoral programme runs to high standards, both in terms of academic quality and student experience. This role is embedded within a growing Professional Services research team and there will be opportunities for cross-team working and projects to learn more about research support across other areas such as impact and research funding.
The Senior PGR Officer will support all KBS PGR related enquires, administrative tasks across the doctoral programme, projects and initiatives and the implementation of PGR policy and strategy within the KBS Doctoral Studies Team. They will coordinate admissions processes and inductions, support communications across the programme, oversee key study milestones and progress management, organise events including the annual doctoral research symposium, support initiatives to optimise student experience, administer studentships, and support the KBS Postgraduate Research Sub-committee.

King's Business School operates a hybrid working policy and you will be expected to spend a minimum of two working days per week on campus.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.
- Prior work experience in higher education administration in research or education areas.
- Experience of using and learning systems and databases preferably within a higher education environment and maintaining, interpreting and summarising data.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and flexibly to manage a diverse workload and competing priorities, use initiative and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, able to present and communicate information, guidelines, ideas and updates to a range of stakeholders and audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively and strong team-working skills and experience.
- Able to work discretely with confidential matters.
- Excellent IT skills (including MS Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Word)
Desirable criteria
- Experience of website management and content creation.
- Prior experience supporting postgraduate/ doctoral research.
- Experience of committee administration, including minute-taking.
- Experience of financial processing.
- Experience of organising events.
