Summary
You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining menu products on our Oracle Simphony Point of Sale (POS) system. This includes the addition of new items, updating existing items (including price changes), and the removal of legacy products. The role also encompasses menu updates due to VAT changes and extends to other integrated delivery platforms.
You will work with award winning hospitality chains on multiple projects at any given time, working in close contact with project managers and key stakeholders at each client. We work with global and domestic market leading clients, some of which operate in excess of 400 sites in the UK alone.
You will aid the project managers by providing technical knowledge on POS systems from advisory setup to potential risks on the project. During the implementation phase you will also be responsible for technical configuration, assisting with documentation, supporting user acceptance testing and assisting in guaranteeing successful support transition to the service desk. You will be exposed to the latest hospitality technology, working with innovative Wanstor teams and partners such as Oracle in a growing, fast-paced industry.
Reporting into the Senior POS Technical Team Leader, you will possess excellent communications skills with people at all levels and maintain a strong customer- focused approach. You must be equally passionate about the company and your role and take ownership of project milestones to drive project completion. You should be proactive, forward thinking, a team player and enjoy the challenge of solving complex issues.
Key Responsibilities
• Menu Product Management - Create and configure new menu products on the Oracle Simphony POS system.
• Update existing menu items, including price adjustments and description changes.
• Remove outdated or legacy menu products from the POS system.
• Implement price changes for menu items as required.
• Apply VAT adjustments to menu items where applicable
• Full Menu Overhauls - Manage comprehensive menu changes, from single-item updates to full menu revisions.
• Collaborate with the relevant departments to ensure all menu updates are accurate and reflect current offerings.
• Integrated Delivery Platforms -Maintain menu consistency across integrated delivery platforms such as Deliveroo.
• Use middleware solutions to synchronize menu updates between the POS system and delivery platforms.
• Quality Assurance - Conduct thorough testing of menu updates to ensure they are correctly implemented and functioning as expected on the POS system.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to menu items on the POS and integrated platforms.
• Work alongside client operations and IT teams, testing the latest software,
• interfaces and apps to enhance the user journey for clients and their guests
• Highlight system and process improvements through progressive system reviews
• Create technical knowledge articles and operational documentation from project work to facilitate the transition of projects into business as usual
• Participate in meetings with internal teams and customers
• Develop and strengthen working relationships with customers and partners
• Provide support to the service desk as required
• Provide clear communication on projects requests and service desk tickets in a timely manner
• Continue to grow and develop via self-learning, using tools such as LinkedIn Learning and POS training provided by Wanstor
• Adhere to IT best practice ranging from GDPR compliance to InfoSec
• Drive improvement through best practice
• Be a brand ambassador for Wanstor and the POS Implementation team
About You
- Oracle Simphony POS Experience: Having experience with Oracle Simphony POS is essential.
