About the Role
Base Location: Glasgow, Reading or Havant preferred however other SSEN depots and offices may be considered.
Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

In this crucial senior analyst position, you will play a pivotal role within the Distribution's Portfolio Management Office (PMO). You will be ensuring the successful governance, control and support of the 'Transform, Run and Grow' investments across the business, a portfolio of over £200M with a focus on people, process, organisation, and technology transformation. Your work will involve setting up and establishing the PMO Governance and Controls function. You will develop and embed new processes and methods to grow our organisational capability.
The PMO is responsible for establishing and ensuring robust and rigorous transformation governance, project and programme delivery processes and controls (including governance, reporting, cost management, risk management, project health checks). You will be directly involved in setting up the PMO, developing and embedding processes, controls and methods. The role will be instrumental in helping grow organisational capability, skills, and championing standards across Distribution.
A key task of the role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders to establish an end-to-end governance and control framework for the distribution portfolio including influencing stakeholders as well as supporting, training, and coaching project colleagues.
In this role you'll:
- Collaborate with key senior stakeholders to develop effective governance and control framework and supporting processes for Distribution projects and programmes.
- Play a crucial part in maturing our project organisation's project management and control capabilities through input to the development of strategy and providing coaching, support, and training.
- Develop and maintain the portfolio governance pipeline planin collaboration with project sponsors to ensure that all projects and programmes in the portfolio have appropriate execution strategies, approval and oversight.
- Operation and support of all transformation related governance and forums including Transformation Sub-Committee, Transformation Design Authority and Programme Delivery Authority.
- Development, planning and delivery of project and programme health checks and assurance reviews with the ability to produce comprehensive, concise reports suitable for a senior audience.
What do I need
Being a part of our team requires a mix of technical skills and interpersonal capabilities. To be successful you will be:
- Experienced in working in a PMO in a large multi-site organisation supporting a large-scale project delivery organisation.
- Highly experienced in developing a project and programme governance and control framework, including gate reviews and assurance. With the ability and necessary PMO and project/programme expertise to challenge and support, to embed the framework and support the growth of the project management capability into the business. A project management qualification would be beneficial.
- Able to understand key project controls (cost, schedule, and risk) and use these to shape the insight and management information required to enable a wide range of stakeholders to understand project, and programme performance. You should possess the skills to be able to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Able to use your analytical skills to support project assurance and deliver health checks and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Highly motivated, self-sufficient and a problem solver who can work well independently.
