As a Senior Policy Officer you will work closely with teams across our Adult Social Care and Health department to develop, write and promote policies and practice guidance in East Sussex.
Much like Adult Social Care, the role is wide ranging and is crucial in ensuring we fulfil our legal duties. You will be responsible for developing policies, operational instructions and other practice guidance documents to support staff and managers across the department, so experience of this work is essential. You will also be pivotal in leading discussions and presentations with practitioners and senior managers, including those in busy operational roles, to ensure our policy materials are clear and meaningful. Confidence in collaborating and communicating is a must.
The successful candidate will also:
- Be able to absorb and analyse complex information, think strategically and appreciate implications across Adult Social Care and Health, and the wider county council
- Have knowledge and experience of writing in plain English, accessibility methods, formats and legislation
- Demonstrate analytical ability, and flexible problem-solving skills
- Be able to present complex information clearly, verbally and in writing
