How You'll Make an Impact as a Senior Platform Engineer

At One World, our Senior Platform Engineers play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless integration, scalability, and security of our cloud infrastructure. As a senior member of our team, you will:

• Oversee the maintenance and security of our infrastructure, ensuring top-tier service quality and uptime for our customers.
• Collaborate with developers to build resilient systems that handle failures gracefully.
• Design, build, and automate tools and processes to enhance scalability, reliability, availability, and performance.
• Support and enhance the productivity of our development team by providing operational support and participating in the on-call rota.
• Lead the technical decision-making process while remaining open to new ideas and approaches.
• Stay ahead of technological advancements by working with 3rd party vendors and reviewing the latest technologies.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

What We're Looking for from You

• A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Expert-level experience with AWS cloud platforms and the Well-Architected Framework.
• Over 5 years of industry experience, ideally from a background in systems engineering and skilled in coding.
• Proficient in the solutions for operational and non-functional requirements, including monitoring, integration, performance testing, and security considerations.
• Experience in web microarchitecture and key technologies like RESTful APIs, JSON, distributed design, and event-based architecture.
• Professional experience in maintaining and operating production workloads at scale on the public cloud as part of a DevOps or SRE team.
• Expertise with observability tools (e.g., Grafana), CI/CD systems, container orchestration (Docker, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes), and IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong database skills, including SQL and NoSQL.
• Passion and experience with SRE principles (SLA, SLOs, SLIs) and DevOps.
• Excellent communication skills and familiarity with agile processes and tools like Jira.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
