Senior Planner

My client is looking for a Senior Planner to join their growing and dynamic team in Southampton. As a Senior Planner you will play a pivotal role in managing complex planning projects, providing expert advice, and contributing to the strategic development of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage planning projects from inception through to completion.
• Provide strategic planning advice to clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit planning applications and appeals.
• Liaise with local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site assessments and prepare development feasibility studies.
• Mentor and support junior planning staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant planning legislation and policies.
• Participate in public consultations and represent the company at planning committees.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
• Chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or eligibility for membership.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in the sector (either private or public sector).
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant legislation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
