As a result, alongside several consortium partners; Balfour Beatty have been selected by BP (British Petroleum) to construct a first-of-a-kind fully integrated gas-fired power station with carbon capture and storage which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK's first decarbonised industrial cluster.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Planner to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside project based at our new site in Redcar-in-Cleveland on Teesside.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Planner you will have the following responsibilities;
- Leading the M&E Planning function with key interface to the other business units/
planners. - Leading, mentoring, and coaching the M&E team on schedule prioritisation and scope availability.
- Develop, control, monitor, analyse and report on schedule related aspects for the
designated project. - Establish and monitor resource loaded, logic linked, baseline plan(s) for the project in accordance with project and corporate processes.
- Capture project budgetary costs and resources in the plan to determine time phasing of expenditure and the total project budget.
- Maintain and control project baselines in line with client's procedures and guidance.
Ensure the reasons for, and the factors influencing each change to the project's baseline plan and the implications of such change are understood and communicated with the wider project team. - Assist the lead planner with EVM (Earned Value Management) evaluation and practice within the project schedules.
- Challenging schedule and cost variances against the baseline plan and wider portfolio.
- Regular interfacing and integration with the project controls team to maintain an aligned portfolio by means of the Project Plan(s).
- Discuss and review plans with management and other stakeholders to identify priorities for construction and communicate the strategy.
Who we're looking for
- Experience across the project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction,
Installation/Commissioning processes) - Excellent Primavera (P6) knowledge and experience
- Experience in building cost and resource loaded plans
- High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills
- Experience / understanding in the interpretation of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools that exist in the Project Controls market.
- Experience / understanding of Earned Value Analysis
- Relevant experience in Project Controls and/or Project Delivery, preferably in a highly regulated environment.
- Ability to interact confidently with a project team
