Job Description

As a Senior Planner, you will provide services as required by our clients, which may include:

  • Leading the planning discipline team on high complexity, high risk project or programmes
  • Creation and maintenance of project schedules that assist and align with project requirements
  • Adherence to NEC or FIDIC contract processes for management of schedule data and submissions
  • Assist project team to develop status reports to keep management informed on project progress
  • Oversight of day-to-day management, staffing and the implementation of Integrated Project Controls standards and processes
  • Development of the project schedules in conjunction with the project manager and project team
  • Reducing uncertainty, know objectives and improve efficiency
  • Interacting with the project team to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan
  • Interacting with and assisting the project managers to schedule work and coordinate assignments
  • Evaluation of project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas
  • Breakdown of the critical path and constraints to understand the effect of changes to schedule and recommend a work-around
  • Assisting project managers to maintain timely and effective change management processes and procedures
  • Conducting analysis to understand alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules
  • Undertaking of project reviews
  • Monitoring and consolidating of overall project plans
  • Monitoring the project managers reporting system summarising the progress status of all projects
  • Monitor and advise on status of project KPIs

Qualifications

ou have professional Project Controls experience specialising in Planning & Scheduling in multiple sectors across the whole Project lifecycle. You have strong knowledge and proficiency with Primavera (P6) and/or other planning and resourcing software. You are able to coordinate and work with other teams and have multi-disciplinary knowledge.

You will be a strong communicator and leader with the ability to influence, manage, motivate, coach and develop a team by creating a diverse, inclusive and performing team that is promoting empowerment and contribution and with a passion to build a supporting community and network beyond the delivery activities.

You should also have;

  • A degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
  • A membership to a relevant professional body e.g., Association for Project Management, Project Management Institute.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to make risk-based decisions where the parameters are unclear and judgement is needed.
  • Project team leadership with the ability to mobilise, inspire and lead by example.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Flexibility to work within different sectors and with diverse clients.
  • Ability to navigate through conflict situations and defusing tension.
