Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. With a full time post available that offers the opportunity to develop your skills within our Orthopaedic Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and professional individual to join our friendly and supportive Therapy Service (Occupational Therapy & Physiotherapy).

The Team are based across 2 sites; elective surgery at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Trauma Orthopaedics at Peterborough City Hospital. This post will involve working across the sites, rotating between trauma and elective services to deliver a high quality service and supporting staff.

Modern healthcare delivery requires a 7 day service and therefore weekend working is required.

Successful candidate needs to be fully qualified Physiotherapist with experience in an Acute Hospital environment and HCPC registered, ideally with previous experience working with the management of orthopaedic patients. You should be forward thinking, dynamic and have the desire to develop and improve patient care.

Main duties of the job

  • To enable Physiotherapy to provide Therapy Skills within the inpatient service
  • To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards
  • To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
  • To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
  • To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation
  • To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in patient/out patient team
  • To undertake weekend working as required within service developments
  • To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
  • This role entails 80% Clinical Contact and 20% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
  • To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans
