Job summary
We are looking for a full time Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to provide 37.5 hours a week rotating between our Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal teams, for a one year fixed term opportunity (ending 29th March 2024).
You should be forward thinking, dynamic, and have the desire to develop and improve the service further. A positive team working attitude is essential for this role. There will be an expectation to work on the Orthopaedic weekend rota as required.
The Musculoskeletal team currently covers two sites offering musculoskeletal out-patients services at both Peterborough (PCH) and Stamford hospitals. The teams are responsible for providing a quality service to a busy out-patient department consisting of referrals from: local GP practices, A&E, trauma / elective orthopaedic wards and orthopaedic / rheumatology consultants. The team provides cover across fracture clinics, MSK rehab groups, supports amputee rehab and provides an Occupational Health service to North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust staff.
The Orthopaedic team covers an elective, trauma and fractured NOF service at both Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals, and there will be an expectation to be based at either site.
Main duties of the job
- To demonstrate musculoskeletal physiotherapy skills to manage patients referred to the service working in accordance with individual performance metrics
- To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards
- To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams
- To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team
- To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation
- To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in patient/outpatient team
- To undertake weekend working as required within the orthopaedic service
- To be available to provide Clinical Supervision
- This role entails 90% Clinical Contact and 10% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements
- To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans
