Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree or other recognised qualification in physiotherapy
- HPC registration
- Wide-ranging post-graduate clinical experience including musculo-skeletal, orthopaedics, respiratory, elderly and neurology
- Extended post-graduate experience in acute medicine including elderly care.
- Knowledge and understanding in a broad range of conditions and problems which may affect adults , including Older people in an acute setting
- Good assessment skills and varied rehab techniques
- Competent to take part in on call and weekend physiotherapy rota
- IT skills, including keyboard and word processing skills
- Undertaken post-graduate courses
- Evidence of learning including reflective practice and training received e.g. CPD portfolio
- Able to self-direct learning and is committed to own development
- Familiar with resuscitation techniques
- Aware of equal opportunities
- Able to recognise boundaries of own knowledge and skills
Communication & Relationships skills
- Able to give clear, concise written and verbal reports in English and complete POM Records
- Able to communicate effectively
- Understanding of issues related to working within a multi cultural community
