Are you interested in a varied and rewarding career in a speciality area? We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic therapist to join our established team within the cardiac rehabiliation department at Mid Essex.

We currently have a vacancy for a Band 7 Physiotherapist (0.8WTE) to lead the exercise component of the cardiac rehabilitation team.

The post holder will have opportunity to experience all aspects of the speciality including both hospital and community settings for the cardiac rehabiliation classes as well as the full range of cardiac rehabilitation services within Mid Essex. We work closely with the other cardiac rehabiltation teams across MSE and you will be intergral in aligning services with the other physiotherapists and exercise professionals within these other sites (Basildon and southend) .

The Ideal candidates will have clinical experience either in the cardiac or rehabiliation settings and leadership experience in working in a team .

Main duties of the job

  • Provide and coordinate the effective high quality Cradiac Rehabuliation service through the provision of individualised exercise programmes

• Assessing and advising patients following cardiac event including assessment of risk factors and appropriate advice on lifestyle change and provision of information on any test or treatments that are planned.
• To provide a high quality and holistic service to patients undertaking cardiac rehabilitation both face to face and on virtual platforms.
• Using specialized assessment, risk stratification and exercise prescription, advice on lifestyle change and motivational counselling appropriate to each individual.
• Working closely with the cardiac rehab nurses and other members of the MDT

  • Experience at band 6 Physiotherapy level or above
  • cardiac or rehabilitation experience
