A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician with an interest and enthusiasm for working within Critical Care & Informatics at King's College Hospital. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a forward thinking team which delivers a high quality pharmacy service to patients in Critical Care at one of London's busiest teaching hospitals.

King's Critical Care is the largest Critical Care service in the United Kingdom, and one of the best performing. Our patient case mix is very interesting and dynamic. In conjunction with Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, King's will be introducing a world class clinical informatics system, called EPIC, across all the hospitals later in 2023. This will transform services and research and allow us to improve patient care, safety, operational and clinical efficiencies. As part of this implementation, King's have the unique opportunity to be the first site in the UK to adopt integration between the EPIC informatics system and the BD Smart Drug Infusion Pumps. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the implementation of this project, working alongside other key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be organised, motivated, have excellent communication skills and be able to adapt quickly to new situations.

Registration as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) is essential as well as holding ACPT accreditation or be willing to work towards it. Previous experience of medicines management at ward level would be a significant advantage
