Detailed job description and main responsibilities

STOCK & INVENTORY

  • Stock control management including putting stock away received from stores, rotating stock/checking expiries where relevant and performing stock control counts.
  • Ensure dispensary areas are sufficiently stocked with all sundries (leaflets, cards, bottles, bags).
  • Sort, count, compile and, where relevant, dispose of unsuitable medication returns.
  • Carry out daily monitoring of fridge and dispensary temperatures.
  • To release and order stock from Stores.
  • To be a ROWA Super user and provide training where required.
  • To monitor all "to follows" drugs
  • General housekeeping of ROWA.
  • Adjust stock/expired stock investigations.

Person specification

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION

Essential criteria

  • English, Maths and Science GCSE Grand C or above or equivilant
  • NVQ 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivilant (including Dispensing units) or willing to work towards

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Previous experience of working in hospital Pharmacy
  • Customer Service
  • Pharmacy labelling and strock control systems

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of using JAC

  • Accurately dispense to set standards
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to support and train others
  • Ability to motivate self and others and demonstrate enthuasism for the position

  • Ability to clearly and accurately complete routine documentation
  • Ability to use basis IT including Word, E-mail etc
  • Demonstrate effective customer service skills
  • Familiar with Pharmacy procedures and workflow

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
