About the role
Partnering the People function
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior People Partner to partner the People/HR function. This is a unique partnering opportunity, as it will combine being the People partner for the People/HR function, and also being a workstream lead for the People pillar of our People Transformation programme.
The successful candidate for this role will be a strategic people partner who is happy to deliver our people transformation programme. To be successful in this role you must also have strong stakeholder management skills, as you will be partnering and challenging your own functional leaders! You'll need to have the ability to juggle immediate functional needs effectively with future thinking, and experience driving people transformation and change with a complex corporate organisation.
This role would suit a seasoned Senior People Partner/HRBP or People Transformation lead/programme manager both capable of long term strategic thinking about how the function needs to evolve at the same time as getting their hands dirty to deliver it, with experience of driving functional and cultural change. This role will report into the People Director, Boots Support Office and One Health, who is a member of the People Leadership Team (PLT) you will partner.
Key deliverables:
- Partnering the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the People Leadership team (PLT), offering commercial advice on all people elements and challenging thought processes as needed.
- Champion organisation and talent development, actively driving culture and change initiatives to enable business success through our colleagues.
- Lead transformation of the people team themselves, working in close collaboration with the transformation programme team to deliver the programme and consult on cross-workstream dependencies.
- Responsible for leading the functional people plan for the people team.
- Build, own and deliver the engagement plan for the people function, playing an active role in our people forum and creating feedback loops between colleagues and the PLT.
- Take a data driven approach to identify areas across the function where interventions are needed, such as engagement, upskilling, reorganisation etc.
- Use past experience to actively contribute towards organisational design practices such as team restructures, operating models and taxonomies.
- Work closely with the finance business partner to manage functional headcount budgets and reallocate resources across the wider function as needed.
- Contribute towards the development of the wider people partner team by offering external advice when needed to support the teams development.
- Delivery of high value communications across the people function, enabling an environment of two way discussion across the function.
What you'll need to have
- Gravitas to operate confidently and challenge up to executive management level within your own function! Comfortable to be uncomfortable companion challenging the leaders as appropriate
- Be a natural problem solver who can build relationships quickly, and use those relationships to navigate within a highly complex environment
- Significant experience of Senior People Partnering with senior stakeholders within a complex commercial and / or retail environment and experience of operating within an HR/People Centres of Expertise model.
- Strong moral courage to lead through ambiguity
- Has the energy, enthusiasm to champion new ways of working and thinking
- Strong change leadership experience - influences senior teams to drive through effective organisation change strategies in a variety of scenarios
- Motivate, coach, support, challenge and develop others to be at their best
- Experience of leading, driving and tracking delivery of programmes and projects
- Experience of facilitation and coaching of management at all levels
