Senior People Advisor - Manchester
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join CBRE's People team for a 15-month fixed term contract. The role is to provide support to the HR Business Partner and our Regional Markets business, c.400 employees across 10 offices in the Midlands, Oxford, the North, and Scotland. You will be based in Manchester, but work as part of the UK&I People team, reporting into the People Partner for UK Markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to employees and managers. Building and maintaining relationships with employees of all levels
- Support and provide guidance to line managers and employees on policies and procedures. Processing leaver information, including organising and carrying out exit interviews
- Provide commercial advice and guidance to employees and managers on policies and procedures including ownership of employee relations caseload
- Carry out maternity/paternity leave administration including meetings, risk assessments and flexible working requests
- Drive insights via data and reporting
- Maintaining the data in myHR (Peoplesoft) and undertaking any data validation for the Service Lines
- Conduct progress discussions with new starters
- Support the preparation of monthly reports for the service line Operations and Executive Boards
- Liaise with our People services function on all admin related tasks
- Provide support to Business Partner for annual People processes, such as, promotions, appraisals and other project work
- Provide cover for other advisors in the department
- General contribution to the People Department with maintenance of policies & procedures and contribution to wider UK business initiatives
- Partner closely with People Centres of excellence to drive innovative people solutions
- Provide People support to wider CBRE projects and initiatives
- Ad hoc projects and duties as and when required
Person Specification/Requirements
- Human resources degree or equivalent
- Chartered status of the CIPD preferred
- Experience of in a generalist HR / People Advisor role
- Experience working in a fast paced and matrixed organisation.
- Extensive knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations experience
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically Microsoft Excel and experience with HR systems
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive approach to work and ability to work autonomously and as part of wider team
- Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
- Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
