Job Purpose/Overview:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Pay Specialist to join NATS supporting the Employee Payment (EP) Management team with end-to-end payroll processing for circa 4500 employees and 7000 pensioners. Working with the Manager and Deputy Manager to manage the EP team workload and ensure that NATS employees are paid salary and expenses accurately, on time and in accordance with the Statutory and Fiscal policies. You will also help provide a fully managed payroll service following the instructions given by the pensions Administration department.
This role will operate at a senior level within the team, overseeing the processing of all expense and relocation payments, be the EP team point of escalation on expense related matters and ensure the weekly expense payment run is processed accordingly.
Other duties include:
- Responsibility for the Expense and Relocation process, ensuring that claims are paid in a prompt and accurate manner and company policy and Statutory obligations are met.
- Provide support for the Deputy Manager in processing the Civil Aviation Authority pensioner payroll and liaising with pension officials regarding pensioner queries.
- Provide support for the Deputy Manager in processing and managing TUPE and benefits payments.
- Support the EP Manager with development of the EP team. Provide ongoing training to support administrators, ensuring that they are adequately supported and following procedures and policy.
- Support the Manager with the month end reporting process and queries from internal and external customers.
- Provide support to the Manager and Deputy Manager in reconciling, editing and issuing monthly payroll reports.
- Check that all data entries processed by the EP team are accurate and in line with company policy and statutory legislation.
- Ensure administrative processes are regularly reviewed and provide suggestions for continuous improvement to ensure the smooth running of the department.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Certification from the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals or equivalent (or comparable relevant work experience).
- Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to hold difficult conversations whilst providing a positive customer experience.
- Ability to work independently and motivated with a can-do attitude.
- Knowledge of SAP or Success Factors is desirable.
- A good understanding of financial reporting.
- Proactive with excellent attention to detail. Strong organisational and time management skills and able to plan and prioritise to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent Microsoft skills.
