Job Summary: As a Technology Product Manager for the Workday Platform you will play a key role in owning the technology product solutions for one of Beazley's core technology ecosystems that support one of Beazley's core value streams, Corporate Functions. You will act as the primary technology partner for Workday, translating business needs and workday feature releases into actionable product roadmaps and driving the successful value delivery through incremental and transformational change.

You will partner closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and global technology teams to ensure the Workday Cloud Platform across Finance, HCM and Procurement are reliable, well supported, and continuously improved. You will lead delivery activity through strong collaboration with offshore development partners and technology vendors, ensuring work aligns to agreed priorities, quality standards, and timelines. supported, and continuously improved.

Your role will support Beazley's strategic ambitions of simplification, modernisation, and growth by ensuring the technology products in Workday suite deliver measurable value and support efficient business operations.

We seek a highly capable technology professional with experience delivering Workday solutions, ideally for a global commercial insurance company, with deep Finance and core HR systems knowledge, Workday Cloud Platform expertise and strong technical product leadership, who can build strong partnerships across business and technology teams and drive high quality outcomes in a global enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy and Planning:

  • Shape and execute the technology delivery strategy and roadmap for Workday, aligned with Beazley's modernisation and growth objectives.
  • Drive prioritisation of initiatives and investments in collaboration with business leaders and SMEs to maximise value and accelerate transformation.
  • Though close collaboration with business leaders, translate business requirements into technical specifications, upholding a user-centric approach in design and feature integration
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and relay feedback that informs and continuously improves product development.
  • In collaboration with IT leadership, champion innovation and emerging technologies, assessing impact and recommending adoption to strengthen competitive advantage.
  • Acting as the Agile Release Train Engineer to Lead quarterly portfolio PI planning events, ensuring cross stakeholder agreement and effective cross portfolio execution.

Delivery Management:

  • Drive end-to-end delivery of technology initiatives within the Workday, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Champion agile and DevSecOps practices to accelerate delivery, strengthen resilience, and enhance customer experience.
  • Own backlog governance and prioritisation, enabling effective sprint planning and seamless coordination of cross-team dependencies. Oversee feature acceptance and defect prioritisation
  • Foster strong partnerships with vendors and service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and maximising value from external engagements.
  • Oversee Workday platform governance, availability, performance, and capacity across production and non-production environments.
  • Represent Workday platform during incident triage and major incidents, providing technical leadership and safeguarding business continuity.

Information Security and Compliance

  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Workday platform through robust security measures and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership, legal and compliance teams to address IT-related issues and maintain governance frameworks.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures related to Workday processing systems.

Finance and Vendor Management

  • Contribute to management of annual plans and budgets aligned to business strategies.
  • Optimise cost efficiency across technology delivery, vendor contracts, and resource allocation.

Essential Criteria

  • Must have proven product management experience in technology delivery within a complex, regulated environments for Corporate Functions. Ideally for a global commercial insurer.
  • Must have Enterprise Platform knowledge and strong technical and data understanding ideally with working experience of how speciality insurers are structured (entities, countries, branches, syndicates, MGAs).
  • Must have expert knowledge and proven experience across Workday HCM (Core HCM, Recruiting & Onboarding, Talent & Performance, Compensation & Benefits), Workday Finance (Financial Management, Revenue Management, Procurement, Expenses, Projects), Planning (Workforce & financial, scenario modelling) and PRISM would also be an advantage.
  • Must have knowledge of Workdays object/data model, Tenant Strategy, Release Cycle Management, configuration, customisation, Workday Extend, Security and Domain models.

Preferred Education and Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications in Agile Leadership, Scrum Master, ITIL, or Project Management desirable.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Must have proven product management experience in technology delivery within a complex, regulated environments for Corporate Functions. Ideally for a global commercial insurer.
  • Must have Enterprise Platform knowledge and strong technical and data understanding ideally with working experience of how speciality insurers are structured (entities, countries, branches, syndicates, MGAs).
  • Working knowledge in multi-entity, multi-currency, globally regulated organisation, with project and cost centre structures, commissions and deductibles.
  • Knowledge and Experience of Hire-to-Retire lifecycle, Plan-to-Report finance lifecycle, Workforce Planning, Global Payroll Integration, Procurement and Expense flows.
  • Must have strong experience managing a complex portfolio with multiple suppliers and global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage IT and non-IT projects with demonstrated delivery of business value and pursuit of quality
  • Proven experience delivering IT change using a mix of internal resources, third-party solutions, and outsourced services.
  • Guide and manage stakeholder expectations with respect to full product lifecycle (forecasting, estimating, planning, progress and metrics)
  • Experience acting as the voice of the customer through translating user needs into clear requirements, using continuous discovery and data-driven insights to guide prioritisation
  • Experienced change manager, able to understand and advise on how to implement process, IT changes while minimising the IT and related business change delivery risks

Skills and Abilities

  • Must have expert knowledge and proven experience across Workday HCM (Core HCM, Recruiting & Onboarding, Talent & Performance, Compensation & Benefits), Workday Finance (Financial Management, Revenue Management, Procurement, Expenses, Projects), Planning (Workforce & financial, scenario modelling) and PRISM would also be an advantage.
  • Must have knowledge of Workdays object/data model, Tenant Strategy, Release Cycle Management, configuration, customisation, Workday Extend, Security and Domain models.
  • Expertise and experience of Payroll provider integrations, SSO and Access Management, Finance Systems and Banking Integrations.
  • Knowledge of Workday data structures and Hierarchies, Reporting Frameworks, PRISM Analytics, Data Governance, Data Privacy, Controls and Regulatory Reporting.
  • Expertise in Agile delivery, ITIL service management, and digital transformation.
  • Ability to use evidence and value-based approach to prioritise the backlog
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of the software development process, high-level software architecture
