We're looking for a Senior Paralegal - Employment Law to join our dynamic legal department. In this pivotal role, you'll partner closely with our in-house Employment Lawyer to support a high-volume and complex caseload, covering all areas of employment litigation and advisory work. You'll be a key point of contact for HR escalations and legal best practice, playing a strategic role in helping the business manage legal risk while supporting our people-focused culture.

- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the employment law inbox and maintain efficient communication flow across internal teams
- Conduct initial case reviews, check ACAS compliance, and assess legal jurisdiction
- Summarise merits and risks of claims, recommending strategic responses
- Coordinate evidence gathering and case file management
- Draft tribunal submissions including Grounds of Resistance and applications
- Support witness statement drafting and disclosure management
- Compile, check, and maintain tribunal bundles to ensure procedural compliance
- Diary management of key legal deadlines and tribunal hearings
- Provide legal research and draft briefing notes as needed
- Liaise with counsel and prepare hearing instructions and documentation
- Attend hearings to provide real-time legal support and produce detailed notes
- Support monthly reporting on tribunal trends and legal activity for senior stakeholders
- Act as first point of contact for HR escalations relating to employment law, offering clear, pragmatic guidance
Qualifications
What You'll Bring:
- Substantial experience in employment law both in advisory and litigation matters (from a well known law firm or in-house legal team)
- Consistency in and precise attention to detail across all tasks and communications
- Strong understanding of employment tribunal processes and employment legislation
- Confidence in handling litigation tasks independently with appropriate supervision
- Excellence in legal drafting skills and experience using electronic case systems and document production software
- Effective communicator, capable of managing stakeholder relationships across departments
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and commercially aware
Essential Qualifications:
- CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ), GDL, or LLB (or equivalent) is desirable, however experience in employment law is great too!
- Strong litigation and/or substantial employment law experience
- Detail-oriented and independent, with the ability to balance legal compliance and business needs
