About us

Interested in joining a supportive, inclusive, and diverse team in an international legal business? We are currently recruiting for a Senior Paralegal with experience in disease work to join the nationally recognised insurance team in Scotland.

The role can be based on either our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, and we offer a hybrid working arrangement with 2 or 3 days working from the office and 2 or 3 days from home.

The Casualty team provide expertise in Disease claims including noise induced hearing loss, asbestos exposure and Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) / Vibration White Finger (VWF).

About the role

As a Senior Paralegal your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and processing the First Notification of Loss (FNOL) in line with client SLA's
  • Setting up new claims within the client's the case management system
  • Reviewing policy coverage using client policy records and history filing systems
  • Claims handling including reviewing and offering strategy advice, liaising, and corresponding with third parties via email and phone, raising and reviewing payments and reviewing and analysing different medical reports and records
  • Undertaking training and guidance that will enhance your knowledge and ability to progress within the

About you

An ideal candidate for the role will demonstrate a real interest in disease work, will be a team player with strong communication skills, and have good attention to detail. The candidate should have the ability to use their own initiative, be well organised, comply with strict deadlines and be willing to undertake training or seek support and guidance from other team members. There is real scope to undertake a wide variety of work within the role.
