About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Package Manager (Construction Manager) to look after the Internal Fit-out at our Old Oak Common Station development in London - join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Package Manager you will lead, control and monitor the delivery of multiple subcontractor packages for architectural fit-out, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives. You will also be responsible for coordinating and managing interfaces with related packages, including MEPH, lifts, escalators, and others, to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

- Lead and review RAMS to ensure site safety and compliance
- Oversee incident investigations, audits, and trend analysis
- Manage Permits to Work and ensure timely integration of temporary works
Engineering & Quality
- Ensure adherence to technical standards and resolve site issues
- Own handover documentation and quality compliance processes
- Lead audits, inspections, and engage with design teams for issue resolution
Productivity
- Develop and manage fully resourced programmes
- Track KPIs and production outputs to drive efficiency
- Align and coordinate short-term and overall project timelines
Commercial
- Maintain detailed site records and support budget reviews
- Lead procurement and manage subcontractor performance
- Provide commercial insight on cost, value, and correspondence
Who we're looking for
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Certification: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
- Experience: Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, with expertise in Fit-out, temporary works, and multidisciplinary interfaces.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire, manage, and develop teams while driving performance and accountability.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of technical requirements, quality assurance processes, and Health & Safety legislation.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of cost, value, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Software Proficiency: Skilled in creating detailed, resourced programmes and tracking productivity metrics.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Accreditation: Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it, with ICE or APM membership.
- Specialized Expertise: Experience with the fit-out of large commercial projects, ideally on a major transport hub or train station.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
