Job summary
We are recruiting for a one year fixed term Senior Orthotist/Prosthetistwho wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS as part of the development of a new MSK pathway in the Community Outpatient Cluster.
The role is fixed term to initially support waiting list recovery plans but our aspirations are that this role becomes a permanent part of the team.
You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards "great people, great place".
As an Orthotist/Prosthetist with us, you will provide orthotic and prosthetic care for patients of all ages with a wide variety of presentations where provision of an orthosis or prosthesis can improve function and mobility, reduce pain and enhance quality of life.

- To provide routine prosthetic care to patients working closely with the Prosthetic Rehabilitation Team.
- To provide information and training to patients, carers and healthcare professionals involved in the care of service users.
- To provide clinical supervision and support to extended role technicians, assistant practitioners and students, working closely with senior clinicians.

- Knowledge of orthotic and prosthetic practice gained through degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience of IT software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and specialised Orthotic and Prosthetic software
- Ability to communicate complex clinical issues to healthcare staff and patients.
Desirable
- Knowledge of specialist clinical orthotic practice, including complex presentations gained through postgraduate study, short courses and vocational training to postgraduate diploma level.
- Knowledge of routine prosthetic practice, including multidisciplinary working within the Prosthetic Rehabilitation Team.
