About The Role
The role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a proactive and enthusiastic Early Careers Advisor (or Senior Advisor, depending on experience) to support our legal business. This role is pivotal in attracting, recruiting, and developing early careers across our offices, delivering operational aspects of our talent programmes, and contributing to strategic projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Attraction
• Collaborate with the Early Careers Manager, diversity and inclusion advisor, and digital team to craft and implement our online marketing strategy for emerging talent recruitment.
• Enhance our social media presence, ensuring engaging content to attract diverse talent.
• Organise and manage logistics for both virtual and in-person recruitment events, representing Gateley's values and professionalism.
• Participate in attraction events such as law fairs, university presentations, and insight evenings.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders at schools, universities, and training providers.
Selection
• Lead on the recruitment processes for all graduate and apprentice vacancies within our legal business.
• Assist in sourcing internal assessors and coordinating summer vacation placements.
• Maintain relationships with external providers for applicant tracking and assessment systems.
• Ensure a top-tier candidate experience with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
• Review and refine selection tools and processes, providing constructive feedback to candidates.
Development
• Manage the onboarding process for graduates and apprentices, offering pastoral care and support in their development.
• Build strong relationships with emerging talent to understand and meet their development needs.
• Support the Early Careers Manager with qualification processes and other initiatives.
General
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, regulatory updates, and retention trends.
• Engage with future talent through regular communications and social media.
• Develop and maintain standard documents and policies related to early careers.
• Suggest ideas to improve our candidate and stakeholder experience, as well as operational efficiencies and gains, as well as support the development of the Early Careers Administration team.
• Educate supervisors and team leaders on the early careers strategy.
The team
The recruitment team at Gateley Plc is responsible for attracting and hiring top talent to support the company's growth and success, ensuring that the Group attracts the best talent, builds a strong talent pipeline, and maintains the company's employer brand and reputation throughout the recruitment process.
The team is currently 14 in size, covering all areas of the business at all levels. Led by the Head of Recruitment, it is an exciting time for the team as the business continues to grow and evolve, providing opportunity for not only recruitment delivery but also a variety of projects and process improvement.
The person
• Have prior experience in early careers recruitment within the legal sector.
• Show a keen interest in diversity, inclusion, and social mobility.
• Are professional, personable, and have excellent communication skills.
• Can build influential relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
• Are agile, detail-oriented, and capable of managing competing requests.
• Are self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong IT skills.
