Education and qualifications

Essential criteria

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Evidence of personal development

Desirable criteria

  • HDN in medical photography
  • BSc Health science (Ophthalmic Imaging)

Knowledge, Training and experience

Essential criteria

  • Imaging experience at band 3 ophthalmic Imager
  • Experience in photography/illustration and multimedia
  • Excellent computer skills, including word processing and databases
  • Able to undertake Retinal Fluorescein Angiography and anterior segment photographic techniques

Desirable criteria

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and physiology and disease processes
  • Knowledge of video conferencing, recording and sound software
  • Experience in using digital photographic techniques
