Job title: Senior Operations Engineer

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. This role is fully onsite

Salary: £35,802 – £39,500

What you’ll be doing:

As the Senior Operations Engineer you will support the Test and Commissioning Maintenance Project Leader in delivering inactive maintenance to equipment both in storage and in build. This includes, but is not limited to, producing packages of work, working with stakeholders to enable work progression, working with stakeholders to overcome maintenance challenges, record maintenance activity completion, record retention and maintenance report production.

Your skills and experiences:

  • Microsoft Office knowledge in Outlook, EXCEL and PowerPoint
  • Experience using SAP and Teamcentre
  • Reporting and documentation experience within a similar background
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • HNC or equivalent experience in a Mechanical discipline is desirable
  • Mechanical maintenance experience is beneficial but not essential

The Test and Commissioning Maintenance team:

As the Senior Operations Engineer you will be a key enabler in delivering equipment that is functioning as designed when commissioning commences. As BAE Systems drives to maintain CASD through progression to Dreadnought exit, minimising equipment failure during build is a truly National Endeavour and one in which “Everyday counts”

There will be opportunities to progress careers through a couple of different paths, either through Test and Commissioning or through Operations and Project Management and Controls. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria
