The role
We're looking for a Senior operations analyst to join our Asset servicing team. Reporting to the Asset servicing & maintenance lead, you'll oversee the day-to-day processing of income distributions, and both mandatory and voluntary corporate actions for Seccl's hundreds of thousands of retail clients, supporting the Operational analysts in the team with any queries that arise in undertaking their duties.
You'll have at least 3 years' previous experience working in an investment platform environment, with SME-level knowledge of industry best practice in handling Corporate Action events on Mutual Fund and a range of global equities, UK & foreign income processing and the associated individual taxation impact, ideally holding the CISI IOC qualification or higher. You'll be a natural problem-solver, with a can-do attitude and be comfortable adapting to rapidly changing scenarios as they arise. Capable of quickly understanding Corporate Action event requirements and impact, translating their effect to retail investor portfolios and explaining them concisely to any stakeholders and clients alike.
On a typical day you will be...
- Supporting the Asset servicing & maintenance lead in ensuring timely & accurate processing of income distributions & Corporate Actions events across the team.
- Driving Asset servicing-related projects with a focus on continuous improvement and better ways of working.
- Establishing yourself as Corporate Action, Income Distribution & related taxation subject matter expert, providing insight & guidance to the team and across the company on industry best practice to help ensure accuracy and continue to improve Seccl's service standards.
- Supporting the Asset servicing & maintenance analysts with any complex queries, taking ownership of these to resolution.
- Ensuring the Operations Asset servicing policies and procedures reflect best practice in line with regulatory requirements.
- Creating a full Asset servicing & maintenance Process Mapping document to ensure all touch points are identified across the business.
This role's for you if...
- You have detailed knowledge of Corporate Action processing (domestic and global), including strong experience with the CREST system for both mandatory and voluntary events.
- You bring extensive experience in distribution processing across a broad range of retail-client assets - equities, bonds, gilts, MMIs, mutual funds, and property income, both UK and offshore.
- You have a comprehensive understanding of UK taxation relating to distributions, and how to apply global dual taxation agreements (including US Qualified Intermediary status).
- You have experience in shareholder engagement, including AGM/EGM voting and meeting attendance (desirable).
- You have a proven track record in Operational Process design and optimisation in Asset Servicing.
- You are highly organised, able to work well under pressure, and adaptable when priorities change.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving efficiency and automation.
- You are an effective communicator who can build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- You have strong Excel skills, and ideally experience (or an interest) in low/no-code tools, Looker, or MS Power Platform.
- You understand regulatory standards and industry best practice in Asset servicing and know how to apply them.
This role isn't for you if...
- You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you'll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you'll be expected to shape your own progression
- You're not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet
- You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen
- You don't like change. You'll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty
