Job Description

The purpose of this role is to play a key role in the Second Line of Defence risk team to support the maintenance and delivery of operational risk frameworks, processes and reporting (as an integrated component of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework).

Why this role is important to us

You will act as the point of contact for the first line of defence business areas and their risk teams to provide relevant advice and independent questioning around their risk and control environment. This role reports directly into the Regional Head of Risk for UKI & Ireland, but you will also play a role in with the wider Global Risk Management (GRM) team.

Work that matters - What you'll be doing

• Support the development and delivery of the operational risk framework and policies in line with regulatory requirements and industry good practice, and in particular looking at themes in our management of strategic and top risks including technology and operational resilience risks
• Undertake operational risk business partnering, cultivating effective relationships and networks ensuring rapid escalation of concerns/issues across the business
• Provide technical direction to the business and Group Risk in relation to the enterprise wide risk system (Archer GRC) and support the implementation of associated system processes / initiatives and manage policy and standards development and maintenance for Operational Risk.
• Execution of targeted operational risk assurance control reviews / testing, provide assurance over our innovative projects and reporting in accordance with broader integrated assurance plans.

Qualifications

What you'll need to bring to the role & Experian

• Good experience and expertise in operational risk acting in a second line of defence capacity to provide relevant advice and independent question around their risk controls environment
• Ability to interface with senior stakeholders effectively to establish relationships and become a trusted advisor
• Experience of changing and building and/or operating industry good practice Risk Management Frameworks
• An ability to apply technical knowledge in a practical and balanced manner
• An ability to produce Board and Executive level risk reports to a very high standard

• Capability to risk business partnering arrangements, building relationships
• Ability to create analytical insight and use risk data to create impactful reporting to generate action
• A track record of working in risk, in a second line of defence capacity, preferably within financial services or Fintech.
• Able to question constructively and professionally and to escalate concerns and key risks to senior management
