Salary: Starting Salary is £35,235 (Level one) rising to £37,938 (Level four) per annum (pro-rata for part-time)

About the Role
The Traffic & Flood Risk Management Service area seeks to deliver an excellent customer focused service in an efficient, effective, and economic manner, with specific focus of the Council's role as the Highway Authority whilst adhering to Corporate, Departmental and Government priorities.
This post will work under the supervision of the Technical Lead and the primary purpose is to use developed road safety investigation and engineering skills to take measure that prevent accidents. Ideally a qualified Road Safety Engineering Auditor You will undertake studies into accidents on the highway to help deliver safety improvements. You will have the ability and skills to explain contentious and complicated highway proposals demonstrating diplomacy, accountability, and approachability in an ever-changing work environment.
We are looking for a proactive and efficient individual, who can put citizens and customers first and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders. They must also be organised and have excellent communication skills to ensure that the outputs of the service area are maintained to professional standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- A developed knowledge and experience of developing and introducing road safety and highway policies, procedures and programmes.
- A working experience of current practice for the design, construction and successful delivery of road safety and highway schemes
- A developed knowledge and experience of undertaking road safety audits and development control advice to ensure the safety of the highway network.
- Can understand and undertake budget management processes, procurement procedures and contract/commissioning processes to achieve effective service delivery
- A can-do attitude and willingness to learn and understand complex highway processes
- Ability to work and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders from multiple organisations and experience of handling conflict and managing sensitive issues to achieve positive outcomes
