Fast forward your career by joining as a specialist Band 6 Medicine Occupational Therapist in Emergency Medicine at Charing Cross Hospital. Our Therapy department is full of opportunity for enthusiastic and highly motivated Occupational Therapists wishing to expand their skills in the exciting area of acute medical care and embed the ethos of campaigns such as the RCOT's 'Value of OT' and NHS England's 'AHPs into Action'.
This is a static post in Accident and Emergency but will be working as an integral MDT member of OPRAC team (Older Persons Rapid Access Clinic) and you will have the opportunity to work within Acute Medicine, on acute assessment wards as required.
We aim to provide innovative and comprehensive assessment and acute rehabilitation through the whole patient journey from the front door to discharge planning. We are an improvement and education focussed team and you will have access to a robust in-service programme, clinical supervision and wider training and learning opportunities.
You will have the opportunity to develop complex assessment skills, risk management and rehabilitation skills in the areas of frailty, falls, dementia, and delirium and other long term conditions and multi-morbidities. You will also have the opportunity to lead and collaborate on Quality Improvement initiatives as well as Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team education as part of this forward thinking clinical team.
Main duties of the job
The role would provide therapy assessment, treatment and interventions to assist with optimal transfers of care and discharge planning including accessing other AHP specialist opinions where required.
