We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Job overview

The post is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Allied Health Professional to build upon and advance their clinical as well as learn leadership skills.

The focus of the service is to ensure that patients receive timely assessment and therapeutic intervention to maximise their independence, safety and wellbeing. The interventions will include education, individual work and group work and will involve working closely with patients, carers, statutory and voluntary agencies, within a multi-disciplinary team. They will hold their own caseload of patients and work autonomously.

This post is a community-based Senior Occupational Therapist. They will work under the supervision of a B7 Specialist Occupational Therapist and they will be responsible in supervising Therapy Assistant, OT apprentice and/ or OT students.

Essential criteria

  • BSc (Hons) or equivalent Occupational Therapy qualification
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable criteria

  • Older People's specific post graduate coursed

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Post qualified experience within Older people's services
  • Working within NHS Older People's services
  • Application of core OT skills and OT process
  • Multidisciplinary team working
  • Relevant post-qualified OT experience in Mental Health

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of supervising /co-supervising students Involvement in research and clinical audit
  • Experience of supervision of students and staff
  • Post qualified experience as an OT (or equivalent role) in a health or social care or 3rd sector setting
