Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• To support and assist with the smooth running of the nursery service in the absence of the Nursery Manager, Deputy or Early Years Foundation Stage Lead and at times being a key holder responsible for opening and closing of the building.
• To take clear messages/enquiries verbally and/or via telephone/email when required and forwarding them to the appropriate person, completing documentation for fire drills, risk assessments, room developments, child assessments, individual care plans, accident/medicine forms, and incident reports.
• Knowing the Trust and nursery processes and role in handling customer complaints and or reporting using the Datix system
• To lead in planning a curriculum that involves a wide range of enjoyable, stimulating and educational activities for the children in your group room which covers all aspects of the child's development and meets the individual needs of all children.
• Supports the Nursery Manager, Deputy and Early Years Foundation Stage Lead in meeting Ofsted requirements implementing policies and procedures.
• To lead by example, supporting work as part of a team with other staff members to ensure the children receive the highest possible standard of childcare. To ensure any problems relating to your unit are reported to the manager on duty.
• Ensure that accidents/individual problems with children, staff or parents are brought to the manager on duty's attention.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ level 3 in Early Years

Experience

  • Working with young children aged 6 months to give years in a childcare setting for at least 2 years post qualification
