Title - Senior Nurse

Salary - Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) (£35,392 and £42,618 pro rata per annum depending on experience + enhancements

Hours/Contract Part Time - 22.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Based: Durham Work Space, Pity Me (travel required within the region)

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of delivering training.
  • Experience in observation and assessment of clinical practice, to determine standards of care.
  • An understanding of specific needs of patients approaching end of life

In this key role, supported by the Clinical Nurse Manager, you'll deliver day to day support to a great team of Marie Curie Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses. Working clinically alongside the team, the role will involve delivering training and assessing staff competence, recording and investigating incidents and writing reports, caseload management You will also be required to deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager in their absence.

A confident communicator and calm decision maker, you'll need experience and knowledge of palliative and end of life care and an awareness of the role of wider community services, together with well-developed assessment and organisational skills. The ability to prioritise your work, whilst juggling a variety of changing demands, is vital.

The role is based at our office in Pity Me with travel in the surrounding community. The ability to drive with access to a vehicle insured for business use is therefore essential
