Education/Qualification

Essential criteria

  • Degree/Diploma in Adult Nursing
  • Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with relevant professional body NMC
  • Evidence of post registration education / leadership courses including appraisals

Desirable criteria

  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification
  • Mentorship, student supervisor qualification

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working and delivering healthcare to patients with complex needs or hard to serve service users in the community.
  • Evidence of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in a wide variety of clinical areas within secondary and primary care
  • Experience assessing, planning and implementing care plans
  • Experience of providing evidence-based care in the community
  • Recent evidence of liaising and negotiating with system partners to facilitate quality outcomes for patients
  • Experience of organising and managing team caseload.
  • Experience of teaching and mentoring junior staff and undertaking appraisals
  • Knowledge and experience working within Health Inequalities.
  • Experience managing long term conditions in the community
  • Partnership working with multi agency/system partners to deliver proactive effective seamless services in the community
  • Evidence of Research Based Practice and service innovation.
  • Recent examples of service innovation and change management experience.
  • Experience of using a range of Clinical / IT systems
  • Experience of working with MDT and System partners across organisational boundaries
  • Working knowledge of National policies and procedures across health and social care and its implementation or application

Desirable criteria

  • Quality and performance management experience
  • Project Management qualification and experience

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills

  • Demonstrate ability in team leadership responsibilities.
  • Ability to interpret National regulations for data protection and record keeping and to develop local systems to ensure these are maintained
  • High standard of clinical expertise and decision-making skills
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of Health and Social Care agenda and Health inequalities priorities.
  • Working knowledge of Health and social care policies and procedures and application within the community
  • Knowledge and understanding Clinical Governance and evidenced based care.
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical audits, research, and service innovations
  • Good Communication Skills and I.T skills
  • Excellent Numeracy skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to motivate MDT
  • Good understanding of clinical audits research and change management /service improvements
  • Knowledge and understanding of the benefits of Clinical supervision.
  • Understanding and Commitment to equal opportunities
  • NMC Code of Professional Conduct and application to practice.
  • Ability to manage complex situations and conflict resolution.
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues.
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving license and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
