About the Role

As a Senior Non-Secure Tenancy Officer, you will support the Temporary Accommodation Manager in overseeing the effective delivery of temporary housing services and play a key leadership role within the team. This is a new project in which you will be involved in developing new processes and procedures. You will supervise and guide Non-Secure Tenancy Officers, ensuring that caseloads are well managed, rental income is maximised, and a high-quality, customer-focused tenancy sustainment service is provided. Whilst you will initially manage one person, this may grow over time. Acting as a point of escalation, you will assist with enforcement actions where necessary, including court representation and taking possession, deputise at meetings and case conferences, and contribute to the smooth running of property management. A central part of the role will be monitoring team performance, analysing key data, and producing reports to drive service improvements and meet performance targets. You will also support recruitment, deliver training, and provide regular staff feedback and development to maintain high standards of conduct and service delivery. Working closely with colleagues, residents, and partner agencies, you will ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements while promoting best practice across the service.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. Previous experience of supervising a front-line team dealing with complex and challenging customers and being able to motivate and develop employees to achieve challenging targets.
  2. Knowledge and experience of homelessness related issues including a working knowledge of welfare benefits.
  3. Ability to manage working relationships and communicate complex or sensitive issues to a wide range of people to ensure the efficient and effective running of the service area.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of the legal and statutory framework relating to housing services and anti-social behaviour.
  5. Evidence of working successfully in partnership across different sectors, building and maintaining good working relationships.
  6. Knowledge of H&S requirements for residents living in temporary accommodation.
