The role

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will provide technical networking leadership across the organization, responsible for managing and supporting new and existing networking solutions within IQUW Groups corporate network.

We are extending our Cloud capability, and this role will have the opportunity to learn and grow skills in Azure Cloud networking and automation capabilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 Network support including operational, incident/problem/change management.
  • Lead on projects, provide regular reporting on progress and blockers.
  • Design, project manage and implement secure, scalable and resilient network solutions for primary and DR sites and datacentres, including cloud tenants, in line with required standards and SLA's.
  • Ensure robust DR network design and recovery runbooks that align with business recovery objectives.
  • Ensure monitoring and support of the corporate network and on incidents to meet, and endeavour to exceed agreed SLA requirements.
  • Monitor Network support queues ensuring potential issues are addressed and or escalated where required.
  • Keeping all BAU and project network related documentation (including LAN/WAN diagrams, asset inventory, process and procedural) accurate and up to date.
  • Follow established change procedure and maintain change documentation related to network changes.
  • Ensure network patch management is undertaken and that relevant system firmware, application software and IOS are periodic reviewed and upgrade (for Bug fixes, Security vulnerabilities, feature provision and vendor version recommended).

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • Strong experience and appreciation of Network design considering scalability, capacity, resiliency, DR, including cloud networking.
  • Experience supporting multi-site MPLS connectivity and Express Route.
  • Strong experience in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols - RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP.
  • Strong knowledge of networking principles such as NAT, policy-based routing, spanning tree.
  • Strong experience in deploying, managing, and upgrading Cisco routers and switches.
  • Strong experience managing firewalls, preferably ASA, Forti and cloud-based appliances such as Azure firewall.
  • Network segmentation and user profiling using tools such as Cisco ISE.

Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience

  • Experience in deploying, implementing, configuring, and upgrading networking load balancing (F5)

  • Works independently and exercises reasonable judgment with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities and accomplishments.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours (9-5) when required to support major changes or projects.
