Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Analyst to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in Cisco networking, including switching and routing (CCNP or CCIE certification).

Proficiency in BGP, Software Defined Networking (SDN), and strong Linux skills are essential. Expertise in Palo Alto or similar firewalls, Cisco and Teams telephony, and virtualization technologies is also required.

The candidate must demonstrate a flexible attitude towards work, possess excellent documentation skills, and be articulate with strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions to support the organization's needs.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco networking equipment, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Implement and manage BGP routing protocols and Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions.
  • Maintain and administer Linux servers and network services.
  • Configure and manage Palo Alto (or similar) firewalls for robust security measures.
  • Support and manage Cisco and Teams telephony systems.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies to optimize network resources.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network analysts and other IT staff.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in networking technologies.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

  • Cisco Networking: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment (CCNP or CCIE certification required).
  • Switching and Routing: Strong expertise in switching and routing protocols, including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • BGP: In-depth understanding and practical experience with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).
  • Software Defined Networking (SDN): Proficiency in designing and implementing SDN solutions.
  • Linux: Strong skills in Linux administration and network services.
  • Firewalls: Proficient in configuring and managing Palo Alto (or similar) firewalls.
  • Telephony: Experience with Cisco and Teams telephony systems.
  • Virtualisation: Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Wi-Fi: Design, implement and support Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Excellent documentation skills to create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
  • Communication: Articulate and effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility: Flexible attitude towards work, able to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and software (e.g., Libra, Nagios).

Education and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in network administration and engineering.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, Palo Alto) are highly desirable.
