The base
You'll be based at our Schroders Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. Without being in the city, a big, countryside campus means life will feel a little different. We support our offices by using cutting edge software and hardware and our spacious campus facilities mean there's a great working environment for the team. With an on-site restaurant, coffee shop and gym, our campus has much to offer. And commuters can relax on our dedicated regular shuttle bus to and from Horsham's main line train station.
What you'll do
• Develop existing and new features to the product suite following the SAFe methodology
• Use code reviews to help drive quality improvements and share knowledge
• Work with other Senior and Principal Developers to implement new best practices, design patterns and technologies
• Coaching and mentoring of other developers, including design, coding, automated testing and quality best practices, and managing technical debt
• Help guide the team at a technical level
• Support the team in achieving its objectives
The Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications you need
• 6 years' experience as a Developer including at least 3 years' building web applications
• 3 years' experience of .NET Core and ASP.NET Core
• 3 years' experience of C# and SQL Server
• 2 years' experience of ASP.NET MVC
• Some experience with ASP.NET Web Forms
• Experience as a technical lead on projects within a small group of developers
• Working within Agile methodologies like SCRUM and Kanban
• A deep understanding and practical experience of object-oriented principles and best practices such as SOLID
• Experience of ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework, Dapper & NHibernate
• SOA / Microservices
• NServiceBus (or equivalent)
• An appreciation of the world outside of Development - understanding the pressures and challenges facing key stakeholders across the business
• Strong communication skills
