The Role

Reporting to the CTO and working in an established agile team, you will use the latest Microsoft development tools and Azure technologies to create innovative solutions that continue to simplify foreign currency exchange for over 400,000 clients across the globe. This will entail exposure to all our different platforms such as our customer facing portal, back office systems, automated banking platform and innovative real-time FX trading platform.

About You

  • You're passionate about what you do and about how you do it - keen to inspire the team around you to embrace modern software engineering best practices in a spirit of continuous improvement
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and share the excitement of using the latest bleeding edge cloud technologies, being flexible in the responsibilities you take on as the needs of the business change
  • You're a self-starter, able to work on your own initiative and unsupervised, but also a team player, happy to share knowledge and coach less experienced team members
  • You're enthusiastic, driven, and motivated by continuous opportunities to learn
  • You're a great communicator and love to work and collaborate with non-technical business stakeholders
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • You know your DS&A

Requirements

  • At least 7 years' experience working in an agile team, and developing applications in C# (preference on Backend applications such as APIs, Serverless functions and Microservices)
  • At least 5 years' experience developing against, and using, Microsoft Azure
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest versions of C# & .Net Core
  • Exposure to the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC), including Software Design & Architecture
  • Advanced understanding of Design Patterns, SOLID and OOP principles
  • Experience with Entity Framework Code First, as well as raw MS-SQL & T-SQL
  • A track record in designing and delivering RESTful web services API in a B2B environment
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Azure Cloud services, specifically:
    • Azure Functions
    • Service Fabric
    • Service Bus
    • Event Hubs
    • Web Jobs
    • SignalR

It would be a bonus if you have experience in:

  • Developing real time trading or FX systems
  • Designing secure mission critical software
  • Working within a microservices architecture
  • Performance testing, optimisation and tuning of PaaS web applications in an Azure environment
  • Microsoft's Task Parallel Library
