We are looking for a Senior Natural Resources Underwriter, Power and Renewables, based in London.

The Onshore Energy Team is part of the wider Natural Resources Team in London. The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Regional Head of Onshore Energy within Natural Resources, you will join the team as a Senior Underwriter, who will aim to make profitable new and renewal business to meet Line of Business (LoB) targets regionally including global elements.

The role will focus on operational Power and Renewable Energy risks within the wider Onshore Energy Team.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets (regionally including global elements).
• Grow the Power and Onshore Renewables portfolio and increase presence in these markets
• Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers. Proactively manage capacity
• Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles
• Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception
• Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for LoB regionally
• Training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff (including Underwriters)
• Positively represent Allianz Commercial externally to the market with key brokers / distribution channels

What You'll Bring to the Role

• Significant experience in Underwriting profitable business in the Power Generation or Onshore Renewables market. Specialized expert understanding of sub-LoB products and portfolio
• Recognized relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within market
• Specialized understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape, including global element
• Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework
• Risk Assessment and Management: Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB
• Contract Drafting and Interpretation: Design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire
• Influencing skills: Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority
• Fluent English language skills
