Overview

Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 + up to 10% bonus per annum, Company Car, plus Regional Allowance.

Working Location: Barking Riverside (East London) and Burgess Hill (Mid Sussex).

What you'll be doing

To assist the Hub Manager by developing and delivering effective, and impactful apprenticeship provision. You will collate and prepare documentation to remain compliant within NHBC internal processes. Likewise full adherence to Ofsted & ESFA Regulatory requirements.

To remain agile to apprenticeship opportunities and needs along with industry requirements whilst maintaining focus on End Point Assessment timelines.

To aid other areas of the Commercial Services portfolio by promoting, developing the business. Specifically, but not limited to:

  • Procedural training
  • Health and safety training
  • Technical and skills training
  • Customer service/sales training
  • Qualification programmes
  • Other apprenticeship provision
  • Short training course, specific provision

The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas

  • Verifiable Site experience within Site Carpentry - It would be advantageous to have Timber Frame, Modular Build or Interior Fit Out experience.
  • Experience with writing and developing Carpentry training syllabus.
  • Ensuring training is delivered in a time and cost effective way.
  • The ideal candidate must have house building experience.
  • Co-ordination and delivery of customer apprenticeship training and/or assessment to achieve qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Representing, Organisations at internal/external training and skills events.
  • Liaising and consulting with customers, outside agencies, and professional bodies to ensure apprenticeships, qualifications and training programmes meet their qualitative requirements and ensure quality assurance procedures are effectively maintained.
  • Maintaining accreditations, including Ofsted, ESFA, and other awarding organisations, as appropriate.
  • Regular reporting of progress & attendance through reviews with apprentices & employers.
  • Supporting the management of quality/consistency of qualification and development programmes.
  • Assessing of NVQ candidates as appropriate.
  • Consulting with customers in the identification of learning needs and adapting learning to accommodate within our SEND policy.
  • Forging and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers and employers.
  • Develop and enrich learners by challenging behaviours and attitudes.
  • Take appropriate actions with apprentices and employers to uphold our Employer Engagement Policy and Disciplinary Code.
  • Fully conversant with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a very strong quality driven ethos.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to negotiate/communicate effectively at all levels.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher (or working towards).
  • Trade qualification to minimum L.2 site carpentry.
  • English & maths qualification to the apprenticeship standard minimum, or above.
  • Working towards full membership of an appropriate professional institution e.g. CIOB, CABE, BSC, RICS Cert.Ed., BILD, IOSH, CMI etc.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Position will be confirmed on successful completion of an Enhanced DBS check.
