Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Middle Office Analyst for our Operations department in London. The role will provide oversight for all aspects of the Investment process.

Duties/ responsibilities

As Senior Middle Office Analyst (Change the Bank) you must:

  • Adhere to, and maintain knowledge of, all applicable legislation, including relevant parts of the FCA Handbook, and including the conduct of business source book (chapters 8 and 9 in particular) and the Training and Competence Sourcebook.
  • Treat customers fairly and act in their best interests at each stage by meeting the unique needs of each customer offering a transparent, efficient and professional service.
  • Periodic reporting of Key risk indicators (KRI), and other MI reporting.
  • Reporting to line manager on matters that require their attention in terms of this statement or which are material to the operations of EFGIUK or its subsidiaries. This includes the preparation of formal reports.
  • Represent Investment Middle Office in organisation change initiatives
  • Identify and implement process and control improvements
  • Analysis and review of Operational risk incidents
  • MI/KRI Reporting
  • Provide Operational Support to Front Office colleagues -CRO Teams/EFGAM/Advisory

In addition provide support and cover on 'Run The Bank' tasks including:-

  • Oversight of daily custody and cash reconciliations and completing client money register, escalating queries to relevant teams and line manager
  • MIFID II transaction reporting
  • Risk & Regulatory (CASS) controls, including custody reconciliation investigation
  • Calculation and processing of client fees including management fees and custody fees .The process includes fee calculation, invoice production, P&L entries & VAT entries.
  • Analyse trade processes to identify areas of improvement and distribute procedural changes
  • Produce client valuation reports including performance calculation, creating ad hoc and client specific valuations (including probate valuations) in a timely manner
  • Create presentations for Committees that are in place to provide oversight of various departments of the company
  • Liaise with both front and back office with the distribution and election of corporate events
  • Documentation of Operational Risk Incidents
  • Production of Annual Client Tax Reports
  • Security Transfer instruction & Oversight
  • Monitoring of Portfolio Opening, Closing and Changes
  • Provide oversight for the monthly valuation process, investigating discrepancies with the client valuations and the performance figures agreed by the Portfolio Management team
  • Aid projects that are undertaken to improve the Bank's overall efficiency that aim to improve the clients' experience.
  • Ensure that the nature and extent of systems and controls in the departments is appropriate for the scale and extent of the bank's business and in accordance with SYSC 3.2
  • Ensure operational procedures and documentation produced for own areas of responsibility are complete, current and written in accordance with the Bank's standards.
  • Ad-hoc tasks as necessary
  • Act as a point of contact for queries from all sectors of the Bank
  • Keep up to date with best practice developments in your field.
  • Contribute ideas and views to strengthen ongoing business and operational success.
  • Adhere to policies regarding Conduct Rules and regulatory obligations.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regarding data protection.
  • Follow the Bank's Values in all activities and support colleagues to also do so.

Management of risk

EFGIUK adheres to the three lines of defence model in its approach to risk management. This role is within the 1st line of defence.

1st line of defence:

  • Carry out your job in line with the Bank's Risk Management Framework and associated Policies, Standards and Procedures, including the detailed responsibilities relevant to your function set in the Three Lines of Defence Standard.
  • Own, manage and mitigate the risks within your function, generated by the activities under your responsibility and those that report to you (where applicable).
  • Maintaining and executing effective internal controls; implement and apply effective controls to manage risk.
  • Working closely and cooperatively with Risk and Compliance, promote and follow the Bank's risk culture, in particular its values of being partnership orientated, passionate, solutions driven, accountable and hands on.
  • Working closely and cooperatively with the Data Protection Officer and promote and follow the Bank's data protection policies and procedures.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in financial services.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply theoretical knowledge in work context
  • Reliable, accurate and ability to prioritise responsibilities within deadlines.
  • Good systems skills and application to the business.
