Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision

  • Provide clinical oversight and leadership to NHS 111/MHUTT staff, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Offer expert guidance on safeguarding concerns and risk management.
  • Lead on complex case reviews, ensuring robust clinical decision-making and adherence to best practice.
  • Promote trauma-informed and recovery-focused approaches across the team.
  • Operational Support.
  • Act as shift coordinator, ensuring smooth service delivery and appropriate resource allocation.
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required, supporting operational continuity.
  • Lead and contribute to service audits, incident reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Chair multidisciplinary meetings and support the integration of care pathways.

Service Development & Governance

  • Drive service innovation and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor service performance, user experience, and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with national standards, Trust policies, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support the implementation of digital triage tools and crisis care enhancements.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain effective communication with service users, carers, and external partners including NWAS, GMP, and community teams.
  • Represent the service in professional forums and promote awareness of MHUTT and NHS 111 MH Option 2.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships to support integrated care delivery.

Human Resources & Staff Development

  • Support recruitment, induction, supervision, and appraisal processes.
  • Promote a culture of positivity, learning and continuous professional development.
  • Lead on student placements and contribute to staff training programmes.
  • Encourage reflective practice and wellbeing within the team.

Safeguarding, Equality & Inclusion

  • Uphold safeguarding principles and ensure team compliance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and dignity in care and in the workplace.
  • Champion inclusive practices and culturally competent care.

Information Governance & Health & Safety

  • Ensure confidentiality, data protection, and accurate record-keeping.
