About the Role
Are you a Senior Medical Writer with a passion for scientific communication and engagement? Do you have a broad range of experience in developing high-quality scientific content? If so, we want to hear from you! Owing to new business wins and growth across key accounts, we are seeking a talented Senior Medical Writer to join our team and help us deliver exceptional scientific communications across a range of channels. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop compelling scientific content that resonates with audiences and drives results.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality scientific content for a range of external engagements (workshops & advisory boards), congress (booth & symposia), scientific slides decks and scientific communications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all scientific communications meet client objectives and brand standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the medical writing team
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to inform scientific communications decisions
  • Contributing to the full range of medical education/communication programmes
  • Ensuring delivery of high-quality scientific content, reviewing work by junior colleagues
  • Leading scientific discussions with clients and external experts, face to face and on calls
  • Contributing to scientific strategy to inform tactical planning of accounts, both internally and with clients
  • Helping to identify organic growth opportunities on accounts
  • Contributing to the scientific development of proposals and pitches
  • Line management, mentoring, coaching, and training

What you'll need:

  • Solid experience already gained in a Medical Writer capacity
  • It would be great to see details of your therapy area experience, project types and the audiences for which you have written (e.g. specialists, GPs, nurses, pharmacists and patients) on your CV
  • Strong communication skills, high emotional intelligence, the ability to adapt your approach according to the needs of clients and teams, and the ability to respond rapidly to situations and manage internal/external issues
  • Familiarity with organic growth and contributing to proposals and pitches
  • Ability to deliver events and large educational programmes, and experience of digital projects
  • Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the healthcare industry
