The Senior Media Planning Manager will be responsible for crafting and managing SkyShowtime's media strategy from a central perspective across all markets, working closely with cross functional teams to bring rigor, insight and best practice into our media planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage day-to-day relationship with our media agency being the key conduit between the media agency and central marketing, regional marketing, finance, and commercial trading teams.
- Promote strategic rigour and consistency across all campaign media briefs, campaign RTBs, and media buying pan regionally.
- Manage multi-million euro paid media budget working closely with finance, trading, digital and the local regional teams to ensure accurate budget reporting and reconciliation.
- Manage & optimise finance process working closely with finance to ensure accurate sign off of POs and no delays on payments to agencies.
- Craft and brief the Pan EU quarterly media brief that distils latest strategic thinking into tangible media direction.
- Work with third parties to refine media strategy using available data and insight e.g. MMM and include these in campaign briefs.
- Own the Media Mix Modelling relationship from a marketing point of view, coordinating with cross functional marketing teams to feedback to the agency and data & insights team.
- Devise new and optimise existing processes and best practices that govern our media approach.
- Review and refine pan regional media planning and buying principles (e.g. audience and R&F etc.) and manage and craft principles for proprietary and inventory media.
- Own the cross functional campaign planning timeline, coordinating campaign deadlines amongst teams and agencies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong media experience with significant in-house or in-agency responsibility.
- Knowledgeable about the media agency landscape.
- Experience of international markets, esp. EU.
- Confident to own and run a significant media entertainment account with substantial Paid Media budget.
- Apt at influencing and upskilling in-house media expertise.
- Collaborative, bringing together disparate media needs (e.g. local and digital) into one channel agnostic view.
- Enhance media sophistication to ensure our utilisation is of competitive advantage.
- Skilled in planning, buying and optimisation with knowledge of trading principles.
- Experience of working with media analysis models e.g. MMM / econometrics / audits.
- Ability to operate at a conceptual strategic level making business decisions for the 'greater good' whilst executing at a tactical local level (in an advisory position).
- Ability to clearly demonstrate impact of paid media on D2C business goals.
- Confident to liaise with senior leadership (incl c-suite) at key approval gates, working with the finance, trading and strategy teams.
- Challenges our media partner(s) to deliver to higher standards and innovates accordingly.
