Since the launch of Candy Crush in 2013 King has experienced significant growth in the mobile gaming category and a significant driver of that growth came from Performance Marketing (mobile UA & DRTV) of which King was one of the first gaming developers to embrace and scale.
However, with increased competition and more demanding consumers, we need to evolve the way we connect with both active and new players to ensure the game remains relevant to the 260 million monthly players who still play globally. To help us on this journey we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Media Manager who will define media investment strategy, management, and analysis of campaigns.
The role
The role will involve handling a significant consumer marketing budget and ensuring we develop truly integrated media/creative- led strategies that attract and engage new and active players.
You will work closely with the creative team in developing media strategies that harness the right media mix to amplify the creative message and reach our key audiences.
The role will involve integrating paid media solutions alongside the entire marketing mix and therefore experience of developing cohesive and measurable contact strategies is a requirement.
As the Senior Media Manager, you will be the lead contact point for media investment and media innovation across new opportunities and technologies.
As such you will have a passion for the latest trends in media and a solid understanding of the efficacy of media channel tactics to deliver against KPIs set by the comm's planner.
The role has a focus on delivering against both brand and commercial outcomes. Being curious about understanding and implementing media strategies that deliver across the funnel will aid your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement multi- channel media plans inclusive of; budget allocation across channels, media strategies & tactics, implementation, measurement, and reporting
- Lead reviews of buying and commercial impact of media acting as project lead on media audits.
- Designing & building audience targeting at an exceptional level, identifying technology and data opportunities to enhance performance and measurement.
- Work with creative, and social, to ensure plans are aligned, integrated, measured and that deliverables align with overall plan strategies & tactics, and that key timelines are met
- Research and define key media opportunities that align with overall marketing strategies
- Building a bank of tactical level findings and designing/leading the media test and learn agenda working with our marketing analytics, consumer insights, and performance marketing teams.
- Lead agency relationships across media, reporting, and test & learn initiatives.
- Set performance benchmarks & KPIs to deliver incremental improvement on the efficacy and efficiency of channel tactics.
- Monitor competitor investment strategies and broader market investment trends.
- Project lead for operational workstreams such as Brand Digital Reporting Dashboards, Reviewing and Implementing Adserver Technology
Candidate profile
- A strategic, collaborative individual who places data at the center of their thinking
- Has a track record in developing effective media campaigns. Looks for creative solutions and strong commercial outcomes
- High- reaching, we are always looking for new ways of doing things and new opportunities to deliver impact.
- Ability to translate highly technical information to a broad set of partners and team members
- Ideally has media experience with a digital focus. Validated understanding of the efficacy of off and online media channels and best practices.
- Has experience working with multiple agency partners to deliver a single client brief
- Experienced with cross- functional teams (internal creative agency, insights, media perf, PR...)
- Insights & data- driven to construct hypothesis & concept
- Diverse experience across consumer industries is welcome. Working for a lifestyle, entertainment, gaming, or technology brand is a plus.
- Open to learning and finding ways of continuous improvement. Comfortable with fast pace working environment.
