Are you a mechanically minded problem solver ready to shape critical infrastructure? Ayesa is seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Process and MEICA team and help deliver innovative water and wastewater treatment solutions across Ireland and the UK.
You'll work collaboratively with process engineers, CAD technicians, and multidisciplinary teams on impactful municipal and industrial projects - supporting concept to detailed design, commissioning, and everything in between.

Position
What You'll Be Doing
Project & Technical Design
• Deliver concept, preliminary, and detailed mechanical designs for water & wastewater treatment plants
• Design mechanical components of water delivery, pumping stations, filtration systems, and effluent collection networks
• Select equipment and develop design documentation including PFDs/P&IDs, layouts, and technical specifications
• Conduct mechanical, energy, and hydraulic calculations
• Apply industry software tools and ensure compliance with design and health & safety standards
• Interface with civil, process, and structural teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions
Project Delivery & Coordination
• Support project managers in technical delivery and project planning
• Ensure timely execution within Ayesa's Integrated Management System (IMS)
• Represent Ayesa in meetings, fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Contribute to R&D and innovation in treatment technologies and engineering tools
Requirements
What You Bring
Required Experience & Qualifications
5 years' experience in mechanical design for water, wastewater, or industrial effluent treatment projects
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred)
Chartered or working towards Chartership
Key Skills & Competencies
• Strong mechanical design capabilities, ideally including WIMES standards
• Familiar with equipment sizing, selection, and operational support
• Skilled in developing and interpreting drawings, including layouts, PFDs, and P&IDs
• Excellent written communication for technical reporting across project stages
• Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving
